A Bit About Me
25 years of experience across the full range of telecoms disciplines, there is little Mark hasn't
experienced from packet switch design to standards body leadership.
Notably he's worked for two major OSS software vendors as Product Management Lead, and was a co-chair during the key early stages of SD-WAN standardization in MEF.
Mark has also held a number of CTO office roles.
Mark is in a great position to offer advice and guidance from initial architecture of a network
software management solution to establishing an Agile software practice to strategic acquisition to
building a 1-3 year vision for your offering.

A seasoned Product Management lead used to dealing with multi-million dollar budgets and setting
direction across large-scale engineering teams. However he has not lost his startup roots and is
also very familiar with the discipline needed for companies in growth mode, looking to capture
market share rather than consolidate.
He's also well versed in the inner workings of standards bodies having contributed to IETF, ETSI NFV
and MEF groups in particular and developed TMF Catalysts and MEF award winning Proof of
Concepts.

Key Projects
MEF
SD-WAN standard definition
Amdocs
(Employed) Comcast Design Engineering Project
BluePlanet
(Employed) Inventory development from entrant to parity
ConnectiviTree
(Consultant) OSS solution definition
Worked closely with the MEF CTO team and industry SDWAN leaders to define an MVP for standardization. The focus was on getting a sensible service definition to market in a timely manner to help MEF establish credibility in the space. Drove consensus and removed contentious items to later standard versions while ensuring a coherent spec was delivered.
Product Managed a customer project based on Amdocs product offering that delivered a bespoke design solution to the Carrier Ethernet Design Team. Positioned the time benefits to both the
executive leadership and design engineering teams.
Reduced the time for one months’ worth of orders to just one week and simplified it so that it could be off-shored.
I was brought in to take the Blue Planet Inventory from a collection of project best practice to a level that it was able to displace incumbent solutions. Over the course of 2 years, by focusing on the necessary features for RFP parity and on the extensions that were differentiators, Blue Planet Inventory was able to complete and win in most RFP processes that were chosen to compete in.
Engaged by a networking start-up to define their OSS stack, specifically how to automate their ordering process so that it could be extended into partner organizations. Re-focussed an initial attempt and put a sensible framework on what the external offer should be. Aligned the work to relevant standards and used industry knowledge to draw up a list of suitable suppliers.
